The San Antonio Spurs canceled practice Saturday, a day after All-Star guard Tony Parker sprained his left ankle. He is expected to miss at least two weeks.

Parker was injured during a 99-83 loss to the Miami Heat on Friday, two nights after scoring a career-high 55 points against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He was expected to have an MRI examination Saturday.

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said Friday that he expected Parker to miss two to four weeks. X-rays taken Friday were negative, but Popovich said Parker's ankle showed plenty of swelling.

The Spurs are 1-4 and off to their worst start since going 1-5 in 1996. They play Tuesday at home against the New York Knicks.

Rookie George Hill and 12th-year veteran Jacques Vaughan will be fighting for Parker's minutes while he is sidelined.
