The AP reports:

The WNBA will help the United States prepare for the women’s world championship in the Czech Republic by having this year’s All-Star game feature WNBA players playing the U.S.

Wednesday’s decision followed an announcement by U.S. coach Geno Auriemma that the WNBA’s summer season put his team at a big disadvantage in preparing for the worlds in September.

Almost all of his squad will be made up of WNBA players, and the league’s schedule allowed few training opportunities.
