Default Suns opening against Portland

Quote:
The Suns have a fresh look, but the start of their 2010-11 season might look like a playoff rewind.

According to NBA sources, the Suns will open the regular season Oct. 26 at Portland, its first-round playoff victim last season, and will play their home opener Oct. 29 against the Los Angeles Lakers, who defeated the Suns in the Western Conference finals.

On Tuesday, the NBA announced only nationally televised games for opening week, Christmas and Martin Luther King Day.

The Suns' opener with Portland is not on the opening-night TV slate, when TNT will air a Miami-Boston and Houston-Lakers doubleheader. TNT will show the Suns' Oct. 28 game at Utah, and ESPN will carry the Oct. 29 home opener against the Lakers.

Phoenix was not on the Christmas list, which features an ABC doubleheader of Boston-Orlando and Miami-Los Angeles Lakers. A full schedule will be released Aug. 10.
