Default Rookie MarShon Brooks has been taking summer classes

Brooks, like the three Nets who have signed with teams overseas, hasn't wasted away the prolonged offseason. He enrolled in four classes at Providence College to attain his degree. He also played in various summer leagues, wowing the crowd at Baruch College in July by scoring 48 points in his NYC Pro-Am debut.

Brooks gets updates on the lockout from his agent, Seth Cohen.

"We're just going to stand behind each other until we come to a fair deal," said Brooks, the second-leading scorer in the NCAA last season out of Providence, adding that he's gunning for Rookie of the Year. "I'm a scorer, I have to have a sense of confidence."
