just do normal things in your life with your offhand to gain something resembling control.
open doors with your offhand. grab your mug with your offhand. raise your hand in class with your offhand. etc...
once control comes and the tendons in there strengthen, then go to the basketball court and start going for left hand layups. take it slow and try to get mastery over control first.
after a long time, you should be able to go either ways on the court.
