1) What i call the "Deng for Melo" problem. Bulls fans kept insisting they could trade Deng for Melo. The problem with Deng for Melo is it replaces a player with a much weaker player at the same position making almost the same money, making the team similar but worse. And Lopez doesn't rebound or defend even 1/10% of Howard, so that is pretty bad. (And i know his salary is lower but they'll need to extend him, and Lopez will want max to stay. WHy wouldn't he? How could Orlando let him go after trading Howard for him?)
2) Their picks will suck once they get Howard. THey will be 20th and on at worst.
Could Nets flip Lopez for some sort of dynamic wing and find some better picks? And send that to Orlando?
Magic will have options. I think they could easily get Bynum instead.
But Nets offer gets rid of Turkoglu. So with Howard and Turk gone, and Arenas anmestied, that opens up lots of possibilities for future........Let's also remember Lopez's good buddy Ryan Anderson is on Magic.
