War is hell, people really die.

In this new media savy world with all sorts of technology war almost seems like it's just a nightly scheduled tv program or something. War is always awful and should be the last resort. War is a sign of societies' failures to find a better solution, I think the big suits often skip steps and difficult efforts, instead jumping into war too soon..

But anyway, yeah it sucks, and reality really hits home when it's someone you know. When it could have been you that died, or a family member, or in this case a friend, it really makes you wonder if the war could have been avoided or some other sort of non-violent solution attempted.

I'm sure it's a shock and is depressing. Sorry for your loss.
