Default Some notes after Lakers lose opening night to Mavs

LA Daily News:

New players, but similar issues - even with the additions of Steve Nash and Dwight Howard, a rebuilt bench and Metta World Peace in the best shape he's been in years.

How does a team with Nash at point guard, Kobe Bryant and the newly fit World Peace on the wing

and Howard and Pau Gasol in the middle score just 91 points and look old, tired and slow in the process?
Gasol had 23 points, but it took him 19 shots to get there - he missed 11 shots - World Peace missed 7 of his 8 shots and Nash was just 3 of 9 from the field.

And while there were moments of clarity offensively, they were overshadowed by bouts of uncertainty and indecision.
