RG3, Adrian Peterson, Jamaal Charles have all 3 had ACL tears. Look at AP and JC this year, both fresh off injuries...looking pretty damn good.
I do agree with you on Rose though, whenever he feels like he is back. No need to rush him at all. But an ACL injury doesn't mean his career is done, or that he will never be the same. Athletes are coming back just as strong these days.
AP's injury was on December 24th, and he came back in September. That is just over 9 months. Yep, same exact time-frame of 8-12 that existed when TMac and Tim had their surgeries. Medical advancements with ACL grafts aren't THAT much better. It's the conditioning methods AFTER
the player has recovered, that has improved.
Derrick's injury was April 28th. So if Rose heals at AP's pace, he would be ready in February. But AP also healed AHEAD of schedule.
Rose is ahead of schedule, but not as far ahead, like AP was. AP had a hamstring graft. He had the tendon and muscle in his legs to do the hamstring graft. Rose didn't. The hamstring graft is a MUCH more effective long term solution. Rose had a patella graft, which is still good, but not quite as good as the hamstring graft.
