Default Sixers sign Jrue Holiday to extension

Sixers coach Doug Collins made it clear from the first day of training camp that this season the ball will be in Holiday's hands, something that would be easier for Holiday to do now that he no longer had to defer to departed players such as Andre Iguodala and Lou Williams.

Ironically, in Wednesday's victory, after Denver had cut the Sixers' lead from 14 points early in the fourth quarter to 71-70, Holiday restored order with a three-point play. That started a 13-5 Sixers run to the end of the game.

"That was huge for us," Collins said.
