Mock drafts and other college prospect evaluations are overrated as well. Rodgers was considered to be a late pick, Cam was considered to be a huge risk at #1, Brees unnoticed, etc. Pick Barkley and make him your guy, the Chiefs haven't had a franchise QB in forever. Exactly waiting years for your QB is a horrible idea, stars can be found in any round, Romo wasn't even drafted.

This might be a better draft for them to grab a QB in the 2nd or 3rd though...but holding out a whole year shouldn't be seen as an option.
