Why wouldn't Durant's story sell? Supposedly the Thunder were supposed to completely collapse without Harden yet Durant has upped many facets of his game and the team hasn't missed a beat. I don't see a great story for Lebron last year, stacked team gets 4th best record in the league in a lock out shortened season
Durant's a great story especially considering league's hard on for small market teams
Durant is hard to market. I'm not talking about who deserves the award. I don't like the award in the first place. I hate the fact the media decides who the 'best player' is. Furthermore, it is not even best player, the teams' records are taken into account. What's more, it's not even most valuable to a certain team. Let alont the league.
It's the 'best player on the best team' award. Calling it MVP is a smokescreen.
