Looks like you never watch him play, he scores goals at a high rate but primarily he hugs the touchline and sends in perfect cross after perfect cross. He already is the best "true left sided wide player" in the world.
It's better that he is a threat cutting inside because it means defenders can't just guard against him sticking to the touchline.
Just because he scores alot it doesn't mean he's a "one dimensional false 9"
At Barcelona he could be a direct and pacey threat on the left, adding more variety to their attack as they are too one dimensional. Tottenham has never won a single game with Bale as a left back so it would be a bad idea to stick him there, though on barcelona it might not matter.
