Morris rushed for over 1600 yards this season putting him second only behind Peterson. The only player to rush for more yards in Shanahan's system is Terrell Davis (and Clinton Portis rushed for 122 yards a game for 13 games one season). Shanahan's system has a great blocking scheme, but it doesn't just automatically churn out players who run like Alfred Morris has this season, it takes a sizable amount of talent too. In fact, only two rookie running backs have rushed for more yards than Morris has this season (Eric Dickerson and George Rogers, even Jim Brown didn't have this effective of a rookie season). If it weren't for all the hype Griffin, Luck, and Wilson have been getting this season, Morris would be the runaway favorite for offensive rookie of the year (he probably should be anyway).
