Default Raptors win 8th time in 9 games

Terrence Ross quickly is becoming one of the most popular Raptors. Not so shocking, considering most basketball fans enjoy dunks, three pointers and solid defence and he provides, or will provide, all three. Ross brings some much-needed swag to this group. Haven’t seen many rookies with his confidence. There was much hand-wringing about Toronto suprisingly taking him 8th overall, but Ross is delivering and has the tools and talent to get a lot better.

Sticking with swingmen, Landry Fields is settling into that glue role Toronto envisioned. Being able to make shots now that he is healthy has helped his confidence and it is translated to great work on the boards (6 per game in three games) and good defence and effectiveness in transition on both ends. A couple of us caught up with Fields after the game and safe to say he is very please and relieved with the way the season has turned both for him and the team.

“Right now it looks like we’re having a lot of fun out there. Really moving the ball well. The chemistry looks great. A lot of times when you have guys wanting to do the little things it explodes into what you’re seeing right now, us winning ball games. We’ve got to continue that, still have a lot of work to do, but we’ll chip away and hopefully make this playoff push,” he said.
