He's a grown man who made a choice before the season, and this is the outcome of that choice. Had he not gone to the Lakers, he wouldn't "be in this mess."
Regarding the last sentence, it irks me when people talk about players "deserving" anything. As was said, no one "deserves" anything. That type of thinking gets into the whole culture of entitlement. They get what they earn. One can say one would
like a player to ___________," but that's different from a player "deserving" something.
