It would have to be between Gretzky or Lemuiex. Gretzky holds the most records but Lemeuix was the better all around Phisycal talent, he just had health issues.
Bobby Orr is considered by many hardcore hockey heads as being an innovator at the defensive position.
Gordie Howe had the longevity and held many records until Gretzky broke them.
Partick Roy is considered the greatest Goalie who ever lived, but Marty may surpass that.
I'd give the nod to Gretzky for the fact he had more assists than any other player had points. That and he's the record holder for athlete who holds the most records
