Winning team? I fail to see where Denver are such a winning team. If they are winning team then we must be considered a winning team. If you compare the last 4 seasons of both teams you will see that there isn't much difference in the teams at all.

In the 03-04 season Denver finished with a record of 43-39(.529%) and Memphis finished with a 50-32(.610%) record. Both teams went on to the playoffs and were both eliminated in the first round, Denver were eliminated after losing 4-1 to Minnesota, Memphis were eliminated by the Spurs, 4-0. Memphis finished with a much better record than Denver but Denver was able to pull only one win against a weaker team than the Spurs.

In the 04-05 season Denver finished with a 49-33(.598%) record and the Grizzlies finished with a 45-37(.549%) record. As you can see, the season records are pretty close but Denver got the better. Both teams once again made the playoffs and once again both teams were eliminated from the playoffs with the same record they achieved in last years playoffs, 4-1 for Denver and 4-0 for the Grizzlies.

In the 05-06 season the final season records for both teams was pretty close once again. Memphis with a 49-33(.598%) record and the Nuggets with a 44-38(.537%) record. And for the third straight year both teams entered the playoffs and exited the playoffs with the same playoff record, 4-1 for Denver and 4-0 for Memphis.

Now for the 06-07 season. This is probably why Chucky was complaining, Memphis never made the playoffs, instead we decided to tank the season and try and grab the top pick in the draft. As you can see, that failed but we did pick up the number 1 ranked point guard in the country, that being Mike Conley. Whereas Denver did make the playoffs but for the fourth straight year they were elimiated with a 4-1 record.

Chucky has no right to complain about "It's good to be coming to a real winner" when Memphis have had pretty much identical seasons to the Nuggets over the past 4 seasons. 4 wins and 4 first round exits do not make the Nuggets any much better of team than the Grizzlies.

Sorry for the long rant but Chucky Atkins is just saying a bunch of crap when he says that Denver is a "real winner".
