Watching Peat in a game for the first time a couple of things stand out. He is really athletic. He is faster and more agile than I realized from watching highlights.

He's pretty short though. He's listed at 6'8 but I would guess he might be almost 2" shorter than that.

Cam boozer snapped yesterday. Also unfamiliar with Acuff Jr but he hooped.

What are we thinking? What's a very optimistic ceiling outcome?

D. Sabonis but with K. Love shooting & Sengun-level defense? You get Domantas' efficient below-the-rim bully-ball interior finishing, rebounding, and DHO/elbow passing game. You get Kevin's spot-up & movement catch-and-shoot three-point game. You get better defense than either of them offers; something more akin to Sengun - a clear step up.

That's a PF/C that can put up - in the optimal role/scheme/supporting cast - 22-25 ppg, 10-13 rpg, 5-8 apg on 60-65% TS, do it in a team-friendly way/in the flow, and be good enough on defense to be #1 in minutes played on a top-ranked defense.

Sounds like Jokic-lite, almost, but with less positional rigidity/more lineup & roster flexibility because you can play him at PF.

Sabonis' best three-year stretch (2023-2025) has him at 19.2 ppg, 13.3 rpg, 7.2 apg. Kevin Love peaked at 2.6 made 3PTs/g, so 2.0 more than 2023-2025 Sabonis. An extra +6 points puts him at 25.2 ppg.

How likely is it that Cam can finish inside like Domantas? Since becoming a starter back in 2019-20, he's shot 72.6% on 3.5 0-3 feet FGAs/g and 48.9% on 2.2 3-10 feet FGAs/g. 0.386 FTr, so some fouls are being drawn, but nothing crazy. His 63% TS (110 TS+) is coming from that scoring inside ten feet.

I really don't think there's much between them regarding size, strength, and mobility. Sabonis is like barely 6'11" in shoes, with a 6'10.5" wingspan, and low-set shoulders. Cam's probably 6'9" in shoes, but with a 7'0"+ wingspan, and standing reach near 9-feet. His dad was 6'9" with shoes, had a 7'2.25" wingspan, and a 9'0.5" standing reach.

Let's look at Sengun's interior percentages. Since becoming a starter back in 2022-23, he's shot 68.1% on 4.7 0-3 feet FGAs/g and 48.0% on 5.7 3-10 feet FGAs/g. 0.368 FTr. 57.3% TS (99 TS+). So, relatively similar interior finishing to Sabonis; more volume, less efficiency. Alperen's mid-range & three-point shooting is what drags his TS% down in comparison.

If Cam can score inside, rebound, and pass like Sabonis & Sengun, but shoot more like Kevin Love (83% FT, 37% 3PT on 5 3pa/g), that puts him closer to Jokic on offense than either Domantas or Alperen in that archetype.

I haven't watched the Duke/Ark game yet but i haven't been impressed by what i have seen from him previously.

The problem i have with Boozer is the disparity in his numbers against good teams vs cupcakes. Last game was his first putting up good numbers against a good team so i am curious how he did it. Did he show some good moves that he hasn't shown previously or was the Arkansas defense just that bad?

Definitely valid criticisms. Sabonis and Sengun have struggled with certain playoff matchups (GSW, Draymond) in the NBA. If Boozer comparisons are to be made with them, then that's something to think about.
