Kings waive Drew Gooden

Sacramento has reportedly had discussions with veteran forward Drew Gooden regarding a possible buyout.

Gooden's ability to join a contender will close on Sunday night.

If the rumors are true, San Antonio and Cleveland are expected to show interest in the forward.

Haha, Kings looking to shed more salary by getting Drew to give up some cash to chase a ring.

I believe that he would sign with the Cavs if this happened. Joe and Drew would make our FC depth quite good.

I really don't think Cleveland is interested. Maybe if Joe Smith didn't get his buy out they would have been forced to look at him, but now there's no reason for them to consider this.

I know he said some negative things about the style of play in Cleveland after he left. Prefered Chicago where the ball gets shared.

But, Cleveland can't be too picky right now. They need to get a big so they remain legit.

In my opinion he should go to the Spurs. He can hit the 15 ft jumper and is a decent player. I think he would help the Spurs a good deal as power forward... :ohwell:

I also heard LeBron is on bad terms with Gooden because basically that whole LeBron/Stevenson feud last year was Gooden's fault or something like that. Not really interesting but if LeBron doesn't want him on the Cavs, it's doubtful Danny Ferry pulls the trigger.

Dallas could sure use the help. I bet Gooden would play infinitely better with Kidd than Dampier.

I doubt it'll happen though.

You think he'll want to go back to Cleveland after they traded him?

I really hope he doesn't go to the Spurs. He'd probably mesh well with Duncan though.

Playoff teams he could start on:
PHX (with Amare Out)
Dallas
Atlanta (move Smith to SF)
San Antonio
Cleveland

any others?
