NBA Draft Combine Athletic results posted

http://www.draftexpress.com/article/...released-3242/

Blake Griffen Tested out as the most athletic forward, which was expected I guess

Jeff Pendergraph and Josh Heytlfelt probably helped themselves a bit

Stephan Curry w/ a 35.5 max vert. Pretty impressive.

Rodrigue Beaubois w/ a 39.5 max vert??
And an 8'4 reach, Meaning he can get his hand 20 inches above the rim??
Not bad for some 6'1

The worst tester by far was Austin Daye.
He had the slowest 3/4 court sprint.
Second Slowest lane agility.
Didn't complete 1 bench rep.
Has a standing vert of 24, and a max vert of 28.

There is probably quite a few guys on this forum who can put up better numbers then that.
Although he did test amazingly good in the length measurements

Blake Griffen is going to be a big help to whatever team he lands on, in the NBA. Big, Strong, Smart Choices With The Ball.

At 6'7 and a 38.5 Max Vert Chase Budinger can get up higher than anyone else in the draft. No wonder he won the HS slam dunk contest. But then again Victor Claver wasn't at the combine. I'm sure he would have taken that title no problem..

Actually Demar Derozen gets up 1.5 inches higher.
And Damion James gets up 3.5 inches higher then Bud

I'm surprised at this...Tyler Hansborough and Blake are almost identical.

Max Vert
Blake 35.5
Tyler 34.0

Bench Press
Blake 22
Tyler 18

Lane Agility
Blake 10.95
Tyler 11.12

3/4 Sprint
Blake 3.28
Tyler 3.27

Standing Reach
Blake 8'9
Tyler 8'10.5

Height W/O shoes
Blake 6'8.5"
Tyler 6'8.25

Weight
Blake 248
Tyler 234

Body Fat
Blake 8.2
Tyler 8.5

If they are so close athletically, with Blake only having a negligable advantage, does that fact that Tyler is more skilled mean we aren't giving him enough credit?

Those numbers aren't close to identical, are you kidding me? I'll give you height, 3/4 sprint, and body fat. The rest are not even close.

You are correct.
I don't see why Poeple thought Hansborough isnt going to be an NBA player.
wasnt he like 3X all-american??

At worst he a Nick Collison, who is a average starter in this league.
At best, he can easily get 16 and 10. Although this is unlikely.

My point is, If Shawn May got drafted in the lottery, There is no way Hansborough should fall to second round

The thing is Blake can get up and off his feet much quicker than Tyler and that's what allows him to play above the rim unlike Tyler.

That being said, I'm surprised at how well Tyler measured out.

1 inch max vert is canceled out by the 1.5 inch advantage Tyler has in standing reach. Blake's lane agility is faster by .17 seconds, how is that not even close?

:oldlol:

Tyreke Evans is a freak. 6'4 w/ an 8'8 standing reach, almost 7 foot wingspan.

There obviously not identical, but they are pretty close.

In reality though, those numbers don't really mean ****.

A better comparison is Blake Griffin vs. Al Horford.

Max Vert
Blake 35.5
Horford 35.5

Bench Press
Blake 22
Horford 20

Lane Agility
Blake 10.95
Horford 12.15

3/4 Sprint
Blake 3.28
Horford 3.37

Standing Reach
Blake 8'9
Horford 8'11

Height W/O shoes
Blake 6'8.5"
Horford 6'8.75

Weight
Blake 248
Horford 246

Body Fat
Blake 8.2
Horford 9.1

I pretty much see this as, At Blake Griffens worst he is still a double double.

At his best he is whatever skills he devolps, plus 10-12+ rebounds.
This could be 24 and 12.

Really interesting observation :applause: I haven't thought much about Hansborough, and have basically assumed that he'll be the next Darius Songaila, but this actually makes it look a little bit less insane for Michael Jordan to trade Felton and Wallace for the chance to move up to number two to draft him. Kidding aside, he really does look like a legit NBA power forward on paper, although the weight thing bothers me. Sure, he could put on ten pounds of muscle, but then he'd probably lose some quickness and leaping ability. His best bet would probably be to try to get down to 5% body fat (if that's even possible for him) and replace the weight with muscle, but that wouldn't be easy.
