Pistons coach knows the team defense stinks
The Detroit Free Press reports:
When Kuester reflected on last season's 27-55 record during the summer he decided to do whatever possible to improve the team's porous defense -- the Pistons finished 25th in field-goal percentage defense and 28th in three-point defense.
Kuester wants to focus on two areas: defending jump shooters and on-the-ball defense.
He admitted that during the scrimmage, one team had slipped defensively (and that could have been the cause of the hoarse voice).
"The biggest thing is our attention to detail defensively is going to be paramount ... teams that are playoff-contending teams defend," Kuester said.
Re: Pistons coach knows the team defense stinks
hard to tell how well we defend when nobody was playing. I think with all our length on the perimeter and with Ben in the middle we can play some pretty good D. Not top 5 maybe, but we coudl be a top 10 defensive team IMO, especially if we add a Chandler type.
