Jennings Watch

STARTERS MIN FGM-A 3PM-A FTM-A OREB DREB REB AST STL BLK TO PF +/- PTS

Brandon Jennings, PG 33 7-19 1-3 3-4 1 4 5 2 2 1 2 3 -7 18

2 Dimes in 33 minutes against the Pacers on 7-19 shooting.
Yea Bogut was on a rest day , but once again he is back to his old ways , shooting more than any of his teammates , shoot'n 36% and 2 whole dimes :facepalm

He has all the fire power around him , and still have to think , he thinks he is the first option
\
NExt game lets see what happens (or should I say ditto right now) :confusedshrug:

Re: Jennings Watch

If I'm Skiles I tell him to watch tape of Rondo every single day and only shoot open 3's and attack the rim. He needs to use his speed and quickness to create and get back to WINNING.

Re: Jennings Watch

This past weekends lose , I did see him spot up a couple times to a designated spot , so he must be picking up on some of the things.
When a PG has a pass first mentality - he will become the 2nd or 3rd option in the time clock.
If you had watched Frazier , Stockton , Nash , or Majic , you would see these guys had pet locations to take their jumpers (money in the bank) and their teammates would always know where their PG was.

Bucks right now are out of sink , and in part Jennings needs to find these guys in the sweet spot.
I see Skiles has a set rotation in , and wants his players to adapt to it.
If you read into what he is doing , his 6th man is Maggette ... who could become 6th man of year ...
There is still a trust factor in Skiles with Jennings .. because when critical baskets are needed .. Boykins or Doolin' .. is usually in the game.

Re: Jennings Watch

19 ppg 6 dimes handful of boards ... but against the warriors he shot 19 times , once again more than the rest of his offensive players.

AT half time , the Bucks had controled the game - BUT
in the midway thru the 3rd Jennings made 6 plays that generated ZERO points and the warriers came back from 18 down to make it a 5 point game.

One possession : dribbled down to the 5 sec mark , passing it and forcing a teammate to take a desperations shot.
Next play - instead of looking for a teammate - he takes a quick shot.. you guessed it Warriers score on another 3.
Next possession ... he passes to a high post Gooden .. who gets in trouble, where is Jennings not helping his teammate bail out , and a steal occurs ..
This was on going and at a time out Skiles was yelling at him.
Finally in the 4th he makes two penetration moves .. which were great and stops the Warriors flow..
POINT : Skiles still allowing to play after making a 14 point swing of errors..
I am sure he thought the Warriers coming off a road trip are poop'ed and the Bucks will bail it out .. So I giv Skiles credit ..
MY on going point - the more I see Jennings I like his game (FOR THE BUCKS ROSTER) .. he has all the fire power with really the main offensive threat in John S. and Bogut and Gooden work just great together..
Jennings needs to become the 3rd option concentrate on his passing and driving to the hole..
Remember Maggette is coming off the bench - so he has LOTS of offensive players to pass to.
We're back to .500

Tonight against the 6'ers 2-7 record :

3-13 0-5 from the 3pt line 4 dimes 12 total points(13 shot attempts matches the starters top attempts Gooden's 13)
Bogut 7 attempts

==============
As old as this is - he needs to shoot 50% less to get his starters making shot attempts perfect example is -- BOGUT.

Re: Jennings Watch

Saturday night : vs Oak. City (minus Durant)

11 total assists by the Bucks // but Jennings scores (8-24) 33% 25 points :facepalm

Final shot , breakdown , but it surelooked like the play was set up for Jennings...

Do we have John Salmons a SG on our team ???

Multiple times within the 4th qtr ... Westbrook gets the ball on an inbound pass -- --where is the defense to deny him the free throws so the OC keeps the distance from the Bucks from a win ??

Whey not deny him.... Last 1 1/2 I saw 4 mistakes Jenning made.

Do you feel a PG needs to pass more ?

There is a reason why this team only has 5 wins.

Re: Jennings Watch

1/24 cav's win.

Jennings stats 1-10 4 dimes (need I say more)

Maggette needs to start because right now Delfino is out.
Even though Salmon's is in a little funk , I'd rather see this vet shoot than Jennings..

Skiles need to stop this , get Dooling in more major minutes as he did with Ridnour and salvage this season , before we become a lottery bound team.

Jennings will be the best pg in the NBA

Re: Jennings Watch

Jennings picked up the slack against the Bobcats , but part of this thread is not only to look at his shooting 'why's' ..
but also to look at his assists and plays that would of called for a pass instead of a shot.
Perfect example was the last Bucks play of the game against the Bob's..
Jenning's drives to the hoop and literally draws 4 defenders to the lane to contest his scoop shoot that missed , why two strokers sitting on the perimeter on the weak side no less , were sticking their finger up their ass.
My point is some of the close games the Bucks have , could of been easy wins , simply based on shoot selections.
YEP he won the game , with 2 free throws ..

but does that account for the record the Bucks have :confusedshrug:

Ironically I have been watching Teke lately , and if the Bucks swapped Teke for Jennings , Teke would be a better fit..
Why , because Teke only drive to the lane , and looks for his shooters , why Jennings is happy to be the first option, and if he doesn't have the shot, will be happy to drive to the traffic lane for a contested shot...
(sometimes I see Iverson in a Bucks uniform) - just what Skiles wants hummmm

But tonight against the Nuggets 27 minutes 1for 11 shooting and 3 dimes.

Re: Jennings Watch

2/2011 some interesting stats

Bucks are 30th in points per game
Bucks are 30th in assists per game

Jennings as of the above date : 15 ppg 4 dimes 37% / 33% behind the arc.

91% of games in which he has played , has taken the most shots per game for his team.

Conclusion : not enough passing , PG is not the 3rd or 4th option , team which should of been a playoff team is a lottery team :banghead:
