Nets have barely had time to practice early in 2011-12
It’s been a common refrain coming from the Nets for the last two weeks: We need to practice; we haven’t had enough practice, they have been saying.
Now 19 days into their season, the Nets have played 11 games and practiced twice. They had an opportunity to practice a third time Thursday, but, coming off a tough loss Wednesday night in Denver, and with three games coming in the next three-and-a-half days, coach Avery Johnson decided not to have a full practice, choosing instead to have players do individual work. Some hit the weight room; others did work on the court; others got to rest. Neither Johnson nor the players had to do any interviews Thursday, and explain again what went wrong in the 123-115 loss to the Denver Nuggets that was more of a blowout than the score might suggest. -- Newark Star-Ledger |
