J-Kidd busted for drunk driving
NY Post:
This isn't the kind of driving the Knicks had in mind. An allegedly impaired Jason Kidd slammed his car into a light pole, leading to his arrest in the Hamptons this morning, police said. Kidd, recently signed by the Knicks as an apparent replacement for popular point guard Jeremy Lin, was treated for minor injuries from the Cobb Road smash up, police said. He was then hauled to Southampton Justice Court where the NBA great was charged with DWI, police said. The veteran hoopster was the only person inside his 2010 Cadillac Escalade when he crashed at 1:56 a.m., according to law enforcement. |
Re: J-Kidd busted for drunk driving
I vowed years ago, after seeing my lil cousin pronounced dead twice and then survive, that I would never drive drunk again. He nearly left us because his friend was driving drunk, hit a metal lightpole n it fell on the car, trapping him inside. Ive never been drunk behind the wheel to the point where I couldnt control what I was doing, but even being tipsy is unacceptable. Kidd was drunk enough to hit a pole. He is too old to make such foolish mistakes. He has a kid. When you drive drunk, its not only you that gets put in danger. Im glad he is ok though. It only takes one silly mistake to change your life.

Pics from the crash. I'm glad he's ok but seriously, he had to be driving pretty damn reckless for his car to end up like this. The wheel is horizontal and the engine is in the front seat. |
