Should the magic let go of Travis Diener?
What do you think about this kid?

I only ask because they have 4 pg's on the team. I got to watch him up close last year during a open scrimmage during training camp. Kid can shoot the rock. Sure he's not a big pg or a defensive stopper, but I actually think he can play. You have to think he's improved somewhat after having to practice against Jameer Nelson, Keyon Dooling, & Carlos Arroyo for a year or so. I think he's deserves a chance as a back up for a few mins per game... just wondering if it'll be with Orlando.
I admit i wouldn't mind seeing the Magic trade Dooling - not his biggest fan, but that's up to Otis Smith/Brian Hill.

yea he puts in his work but they have 3 other guards, where would he fall on the depth chart??? also they drafted J.J., so do you think Diener can shoot better than J.J.? But ima SLU fan so ive watched Diener play and he can, its just is orlando a good fit for him???:confusedshrug:

Trade Diener to the suns, I would love to see him playing in PHX. He could could become a really good player playing PHX's up tempo style :D

They need to make a PG move and Diener makes sense, though I think the Magic would hate to part with him.

let him do it in the regular season first. If he performs well they could use him as a big trade asset along with their caproom next offseason...

The problem is that with three guards ahead of him he will get very little playing time. I think that coach Hill will give him some minutes after his excellent performance in the summer league but still it won't be enough, i wouldn't like to see him leave but i think that he can really develop in another team where he gets playing time

He would garner some interest on the trade market. Someone will sign him quickly if he will be released.

I think he's considered a fringe nba player, right on the border of being in the league vs. a career in the d-league/overseas

They should send him to the D-League to develop him. They definitly shouldn't let go of him, he has potential, I just think he needs some more experience.
