Suprising west team...
remember the girzlies be4 this past year, they made the playoffs for a few years, the experts had them as a 50 win team again like the past years but then gasols leg broke and it went down hill

now that gasol is fully healthy with a real good pg [mike conly, yess i think he is nba ready, always playing in odens shadow] with rudy gay having more experience and mike iavronis track record on improving big men [anyone remember darko?]

and now with navaro one of europes top 3 players, nba ready

i can see them bieng the 5th seed like past years..

No way the 5th seed, Utah, Houston, Denver are all jostling for spots and higher, so the best possible for the Grizzlies is 7th or 8th seed. It'll probably come down to the Hornets and the Lakers for those two.

The Grizzlies won't make so much surprise on us. They are capable to clinch into the play-off if lucky, but what they ought to do then is to attempt to avoid another sweep.

Since this is a young team with talented players, their future is brilliant, though.

I don't think we will make the playoffs this year but we definitly won't be as bad as we were last year. I see a finishing spot around 8th-10th spot for us.

Re: Suprising west team...
Depends on a couple of things.

1. The PG. How quickly can Conley make the transition to the NBA.

2. Can Navarro lightit up at SG. Can he hit the NBA 3pters with the same regularity (44%) and get the respect in the lane (88% FTs), he has the same teardrop move Parker uses so effectively.

3. Can Mike Miller repeat his outstanding efforts from last year.

4. Can Gasol regain his all-star form.

5. Can Milicic make a serious progression, say 14, 8, 2.5.

If the answers are yes, they´ll be a very dangerous offensive team, that can run and play inside out, and beat every team on a given night, but ultimately I don´t see a lot of defense on their roster.
