Rogue Or Regular? A Problem If Donaghy 'Fit In'
Quote:
I think this asks some very tough questions that until now I have not seen any others in the media ask. Its true though. If this guy was considered one of the better refs in the rankings, if there were no questions about him, if he was as normal as the next guy, what does that say about the system Stern was so very proud of? What does that say about his arrogant stance that betting in basketball was a ridiculous proposition? What does that say about his competency as Commish? link |
Re: Rogue Or Regular? A Problem If Donaghy 'Fit In'
Those are all great points.
BUt i dont think that Donaghy being a "typical" ref speaks of how bad the other referees are, but just how easy it is to rig an NBA game. Calls can go either way all the time, so it never seems out of the ordinary when a block is called, but a charge was warranted. Sigh. This is all so very depressing. |
Re: Rogue Or Regular? A Problem If Donaghy 'Fit In'
This is absolutely the real problem with Donaghy--the fact that the NBA doesn't have the ability to tell whether its officials are fixing games. The league's attempts at providing training and oversight for officials have been a complete failure, and the league's officiating is random at best (and more likely, corrupt).
Very depressing, I agree. |
Re: Rogue Or Regular? A Problem If Donaghy 'Fit In'
we should just keep telling ourselves that its no big deal and it will go away.
i heard that worked out for Vick |
