Wow. Someone get Mayo off whatever he's on. Maybe he doesn't think he's got the #1 pick locked up, so he wants to stay? Or maybe he wants to be like MJ and stay 3 years?

My analysis of FOYE4MVP's Mock Draft:

I have O.J. Mayo as my #1 prospect right now, and I think he's the biggest Sure-Thing of the Big Three. But I do like the idea of him playing alongside Dwayne Wade, although that may be too much star power for one backcourt. I absolutely loath Michael Beasley to Seattle, but no hard feelings. I just hate his attitude; he'd kill Kevin Durant. The Bulls are in a blessed situation because they are in a position to get a great inside scoring center or a great defensive center. I like Love to Philly better than Batum, but Batum's got alot of potential. Of the non-lottery picks, I like Lopez to Cleveland and Thabeet to Charlotte the best.

Hasheem Thabeet should be Top 10... the defensive stopper that every team seeks... besides... you can't coach height...

Bulls drafting Hibbert at #4 would make me throw up in my mouth.

Weren't Beasley and Durant teammates back when they were in HS?

I found this on wikipedia, not sure if its true or not

"A basketball player from his earliest days, Durant played for a successful Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) youth basketball team in the PG Jaguars. The Jaguars won multiple national championships with Durant and fellow future blue chip recruits Michael Beasley (Kansas State) and Chris Braswell (Georgetown)."

Re: MY MOCK DRAFT 2008 v1

I still think Beasley will be too much of a loudmouth for the Sonics. Get Durant a nice, quiet guy who gets the job done for the better of the team.

Re: MY MOCK DRAFT 2008 v1

I watched the USC-Southern Illinois game last night, and the guys that impressed me were Davon Jefferson, that Lewis kid for S.C., and Falker for Southern Illinois. This was actually my first time seeing O.J. Mayo in a college game, and my assessment of the game was that he dribbled way too often and got the team away from their sets. His jumpshot shooting off the dribble didn't impress me too much. He's not big enough to impose his will on other 2's in the NBA, and I think he'll end up a Point Guard. If that's the case, his stats will most likely go up, but his team'll be crap. To me, he's sort of like Gilbert Arenas or Stephon Marbury. I think there's hope for him to end up the best player in this draft, but he's a bit of a risky pick now that I've watched him, IMO. Jefferson impressed me, but he was far from perfect. Most of his big plays came from getting to the rim and using his athleticism. I don't think he'll be ready to enter the draft this year, even as a potential pick. Lewis impressed me a bit at the end of the game; he looked like he really wanted it, and once Mayo's gone I think he'll take the reins and become the best scorer on this team. USC's very impressive, I just hope some of their players, excluding Mayo, decide to stay at least another year. Falker looks like he'll be able to find a spot on an NBA roster, but I didn't pay too much attention to him.

Right now I've seen some of Eric Gordon, some O.J. Mayo, and a bit of Derrick Rose. I'm gonna try to watch some more late night games and see how some of these top prospects do. I would like Gordon, Jordan, or Batum at #2 rather than Beasley or Mayo. I view Mayo as the better fit than Beasley; Mayo is a nice guard who can create some with his dribble, and although he's a bit of a ballhog and escapes the gameplan, he could draw attention away from KD and hopefully if he's unselfish enough, kick it out and let KD make it rain. Then there's Green down low as well, who I'm pretty high on. I'd like to see Seattle get some size down low with Jordan or Hibbert, or get a nice guard next to KD.

1.Seattle Supersonics-OJ Mayo
Beasley does not project to be a PF in the NBA,he's going to be a big SF with his back to the basket or hitting mid-range shots, just like Carmelo except Beasley is a better rebounder.Seattle needs a SG who wants to score on almost every possession, unlike Kevin Durant who is very passive and doesnt demand the ball like Mayo.

2.Minnesota Timberwolves-Roy Hibbert
Theo Ratliff is an expirer and unless you want to have Michael Doleac as your center next year you need to adress this weakness immediately.Telfair will get 2 years to prove himself at the point while sharing minutes with Jaric and Foye.Brewer is a solid SF off the bench and Ryan Gomes is one of the most underrated players in the league.Hibbert>Jordan because of experience.

3.Chicago Bulls-Michael Beasley
Passing up on Derrick Rose a local kid would hurt, but they already have Heinrich and the Bulls will need to replace Deng or Gordon with their first round pick.Beasley is the best player on the board and Paxson would probably take him.

4.Miami Heat-Derrick Rose
Best True PG paired in the backcourt with other local Chicago great D-Wade would be great for Rose and the Heat when looking towards the future.

5.Philadelphia 76ers-Blake Griffin
Hes shot up everybody's draft board because these people have seen him play,NBAdraft.net is right on with Griffin projecting to be a Carlos Boozer type of player.Philly has drafted a SF 2 years straight,Iggy is their SG and Louis Williams is proving hes going to be their PG.They either take Griffin or trade down.

6.Memphis Grizzlies-Eric Gordon
Memphis will most likely trade this pick, what else can we add?
We've taken 2 PG's and our SG,SF,PF,and C positions are locked up with good starters, our backcourt is nearly filled so we'd have to take the best player available and that would be Gordon.

7.New York Knicks-Donte Green
Long SF who if he develops right could be the next Rashard Lewis.New York would most likely take Green and trade him in a package to dump off some of their bloated contracts

8.Sacramento Kings-Chase Buddinger
With Ron Artest and Mike Bibby both gone,Sacramento will most likely move Salmons to the PG,and take a SF like Buddinger who is from California and has extreme athletic ability.
