Demetris Nichols is what we got for a future 2nd round pick. Look for Jones to be released and dickau. Although isiah made a push at jones a few years ago in the draft.

Maybe we cut Jerome James. We only signed Cato to one year deal for a mil so he's gone. We have 17 players.

I'm hoping we release James and Dickau. I want to keep Fred Jones.

Maybe throw a deal out and get Jeffries out the way to. I'm liking our small fowards, Richardson, Chandler, Balkman and possibly Nichols.

IMO Nichols will be our third string SG because he can shoot haha. I would also like to release James and Dickau too but I think it will be Dickau and Jones unless there are any trades. But we can't trade Randolph, Dickau or Jones for 60 days because we just got them. Dickau and Jones are expiring and were only fillers to get rid of Francis's contract. They will be gone IMO.

SG-Richardson/Crawford/Nichols
PG-Marbury/Collins/Robinson

Nice depth. Q starts at SG because he is a real SG not a SF and he can defend SG's pretty well when he's healthy. Jeffries will start at SF because of his versatility and his defense. We need some defense with Curry and Randolph starting down low.

im not talking about whos more talented. everyone knows the knicks got the better end of the deal. my point is is that we took on a longer contract for more years to leave us in salary cap hell for a longer period of time. so to say we got rid of a contract is utterly stupid.

Francis was old, worn out and useless on the Knicks while Randolph, who will be 26, is only one of four 20 10 players in the NBA and his 24,10+ ranks him as one of the 3 best PF's in the east along with Jermain O'Neil and Bosch.

Zack Randolph could be a franchise player for the Knicks and an all-star.

just wanted to put in a little info here. Rotoworld, which is a sports newsite, wrote up a very small thing about the trade.

The Knicks got a whole lot better by adding Randolph without having to give up David Lee. ... The fact the Blazers moved Randolph (and his massive salary) for so little shows you just how badly they wanted to get rid of him. If the Knicks can start Ranolph at small forward, a starting lineup of Stephon Marbury, Jamal Crawford, Randolph, David Lee and Eddy Curry looks pretty good to us, but don't be surprised to see Isiah keep Lee coming off the bench, starting Fred Jones or Quentin Richardson in his place....

starting Curry, Lee, Randolph, Craw, Marbs seems interesting, though my brain feels like it should be Lee at SF not randolph. Who knows. And Fred Jones starting over Balkman, Jeffries, QRich seems pretty unlikely...we shall see. I can't wait to see what Isiah is up to. Right now with the trades and the draft picks...we have 17 guys once the two picks are signed. Something has to happen.

Yes Randolph is a PF, not SF. He is only one of four players in the NBA to average at least 20 points and 10 rebounds. He could be a franchise player and all star for the Knicks. Big upside for very little cost.

We gave up a reluctant-to-shoot outside shooting 7-footer who did not rebound, did not play the post, did not block shots and did not play during crunch time because of a lack of heart or balls. And we dumped an overpaid veteran with an untradeable contract in Steve DisenFranchised who did not fit in with the Knicks, whose knees were waring out and whose attitude was waring thin.

I would start either Richardson or maybe even Jeffries. (If he's not traded) I wouldn't put David Lee at SF unless we're playing a big lineup.

If we play teams like NJ, Toronto or Boston Lee would have to gaurd, Jefferson, Parker/Mo Pete / Pierce.

That's just in our division.

That's something maybe he has to work on. Maybe he will never be able to cover them. But how many people can.

How many players can shut those guys out?

For that matter how many guys can stop Lee from getting his?

So it's again down to team defense and not really shutting them down but holding them to their average and stopping the rest of the team.

Jefferson is going to get his 17 and whatever rebounds because he goes to the offensive glass for put backs as does Lee. Plus he's athletic so he drives too.

Pierce to me is really a 2 so Q has to handle him when he plays the 3.

This trade upgrades us big time. It's going to be hard in the east.

Detroit, Cavs, Heat, Wizards, Magic, Toronto, Nets and Bulls.

Those are the 8 that made it last year, we are going to someone try and sneak in beating out New Jersey, Wizards or Magic.
