Anderson Silva vs James Irvin & Brock Lesnar vs Heath Herring
What are your predictions for these two upcoming fights? (FN 14 & UFC 87)
Anderson Silva V James Irvin
With Anderson moving to LHW this will be a interesting match up for him for his first fight at this weight class. Irvin is a KO highlight reel but I don't see him putting the stamp on Anderson. I see Silva winning via rear naked choke in the second round.
Brock Lesnar vs Heath Herring
This is another interesting match up because Herring might test Brock's chin for us. Herring doesn't impress me much, but Lesnar does. Lesnar is going to be a beast in the HW divison as long as he wins this fight, and continues training hard. His first fight really showed his strength but not much else (obviously). He shouldn't be making the same mistake twice *Cough* CB Dollaway *Cough*and I see Lesnar winning via TKO (GNP) 1st round.
If Heath won I wouldn't be surprised at all but I just dont see it playing out that way. There are some other good matches coming up GSP vs Fitch, and Florian vs Huerta.
For the record I do not watch WWE, TMOGE.
So what do you guys have predicted for these two match ups?
Re: Anderson Silva vs James Irvin & Brock Lesnar vs Heath Herring
Herring is a ring veteran who's ching is solid and knows how to avoid takedowns. Size is not an advantage for Brock as well since Crazy Horse is 6'4 260. Herring will find a way to knock him out.
I was just talking about this fight today with a couple of friends. I said Heath is gonna smash Brock. They looked at me in suprise. They wagered against me 40 bucks each.

There wasent much of a size advantage when Brock fought Mir either. It's just that most of Brocks weight is from the waist up. Brock only had about 10 pounds on Mir. I think if Herring is going to win that it will be by decision, unless Brock has a really bad chin. Herring likes to stand, so it should be a slugfest anyways.
Looks like talk of Silva ditching the mediocre 185 division were premature, he says he is moving up as a personal favor to Dana White but will not stay there because he feels the belt belongs to Machida. lotta loyalty there, kinda surprising but class act.
As far as the fights, Irvin lets himself get hit a lot but he has a HW's knockout power so this is a dangerous fight for Silva but if he stays disciplined he will pick the Sandman apart.
And Herring is going to get TKOd in the first or win late after Lesnar gasses. Lesnar's wrestling is just way too much for Heath to deal with.
Re: Anderson Silva vs James Irvin & Brock Lesnar vs Heath Herring
I don't know what they're doing with Brock Lesnar. He's probably going to end up 0-2. It's almost like they aren't giving him a chance. He should have started off against the two worst HWs in the division.
I kinda want Brock to succeed, but I think Herring will find a way to win. I don't see Brock stopping him.
Re: Anderson Silva vs James Irvin & Brock Lesnar vs Heath Herring
I'm crossing my fingers for the first death in the Octagon. If Herring murdered Lesnar, I would clap.
And don't complain about Brock fighting semi-good guys. If he wasn't ready for it, then he shouldn't have signed a huge contract in the big leagues. If he wanted to work his way up against lower guys, then he should have been doing that instead of fake wrestling for a bunch of white trash. In the UFC there are no easy fights no matter how many WWE belts you have.
Also, Anderson Silva will beat Irvin. Probably by KO, but maybe by sub, but he's winning that fight.
Re: Anderson Silva vs James Irvin & Brock Lesnar vs Heath Herring
I gotta agree with TMOGE. Although the HW division in the UFC sucks, instead of protecting Brock, you need to see what he's got. He may need a different camp though if he's just working up in Minnesota. Or move around like GSP, and like work his ass off on submission defense, although that won't be easy at all.
The good thing for Brock is that he's not fighting a BJJ black belt, which is a plus. I don't see Herring pulling any amazing submissions unless he transforms into Mir or Nogueira before the fight. So it comes down to whether or not Herring can stop Brock's takedowns and avoid his GnP. Jake O'Brien managed to lay on Heath for like 3 rounds. I think Brock can get Heath down, it'll just depend on how long and when he'll be able to get him down.
Re: Anderson Silva vs James Irvin & Brock Lesnar vs Heath Herring
The reason I think Herring will win is because he's just alot tougher than Brock Lesnar.
WWE Lesnar will come out like he did against Mir and throw those retarded hammerfists, but he won't be able to finish Herring. Herring has been ground and pounded by Fedor, I think he can handle whatever **** Lesnar can throw on him.
Also, he had a torn ACL in the Jake O'Brien fight and it was his first fight in the Octagon, and as we're seeing, these PRIDE guys look like garbage their first fight in the Octagon before looking alot better in their subsequent bouts. ****, Herring almost KO'ed Nog in Nog's first Octagon bout after Herring had some experience in the cage.
The only thing that worried me is the Kongo fight where Kongo was taking Heath down. Herring said he trained no wrestling for that fight since he thought Kongo was gonna stand, so his wrestling may have been rusty.
I just think a Lesnar loss far outweights the benefits of a Lesnar win. If Lesnar wins, cool, UFC makes a few extra bucks, if he loses, it shows that a WWE wrestler can't just waltz on in here and compete with these guys regardless of how good of a collegiate wrestler they were years ago.
If a guy can wrestle in college, go do WWE, quit WWE, decide they wanna be an NFL star, quit NFL, then decide they wanna be a mixed martial artist and be successful it just makes it look like MMA takes no skill. Guys put their life into this sport and this flake wants to come and train a year then come in and be competitive? Please.

He was originally suppose to face 80 year old Mark Coleman.
Both Lesnar and HH are taking the fight very srsly. Lesnar is working with Rodrigo Comprido (BJJ guy) and HH is training at Xtreme Couture.

Why is it that your sole argument against Brock Lesnar is that his past included WWE? He was ready for it, never said he wasen't. He got caught because he made a ****ty mistake, the guy over powers Mir any day of the week. If he would of backed off and let Mir stand up the fight would of finished.
Brock never quit the NFL either, he just never made it.

Because that's the only reason he's in UFC in the first place. You think UFC is going to let an unproven guy waltz on in and compete in the UFC for $250K a fight? Of course not otherwise other great collegiate wrestlers like Jake Rosholt and Johnny Hendricks would be in the UFC, too. He's here because he was in WWE so that's how I and many other MMA fans will judge him. Because that's the reason he was here in the first place.
Made a ****ty mistake? Really? So he just kind of fell into a submission? I think the fact that Frank Mir is a good BJJ guy and Brock Lesnar is a WWE wrestler had more to do with it than Lesnar falling into a submission.
Every interview I read with this guy and he has absolutely NO respect for anyone or anything. I read one today where he's asked about the fans feeling he gets a free pass because he was in WWE and he says basically, "Tough ****! I'm the one bringing in the dollars! I'm the one people are paying to see!" I'd have much more respect for him if he just acted a bit more humble and said something like "Well, that's a criticism I'm going to have to deal with until I prove myself."
Also, he's the epitome of white trash and epitomizes the WWE fanbase that I and anyone with any sense of self respect despise.
People are saying "If he beats Heath he's unstoppable!" not he's not. He's just another wrestler in a weak UFC HW division. Unstoppable? Maybe against another WWE wrestler.

So your saying there going to let other WWE superstars like Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan, and The Rock become UFC fighters if they want to be because they were once in the WWE? No, probably not.
You also say WWE is for white trash? Last time I flipped through the channels I caught some of WWE, there were plenty of black fans in the crowd. Celebrities(sp?) and other very sucessgful people watch WWE as well. Infact I bet you quite a bit of WWE watchers have a better life then you do.
Sometime soon if might occur to you that Lesnars wrestling background and his first legit MMA fight probably had a big factor as to how he got to the UFC so quickly. His WWE background defenitly played a roll in to how he headlined his first PPV, he drew a huge crowd and assisted a huge cash flow for the UFC. So quite frankly, your a fucking retard.
