Yeah, that's pretty hilarious. I used to be a telemarketer. Definitely not a job for everyone, you need to have good verbal skills and not sound like you're reading directly from the script if you want to have any real success.

If you want to get rid of them, the best method is to be polite at first and ask their name, what company they're calling from, etc., then request to be put on the no-call list.

Often times people will just say things like "don't call me again, ****er", and I can speak from experience that a lot of the time they get put right back into the call list. Then, the next time they get called their argument falls flat because they don't know who originally called them.

Working in telemarketing is pretty bad. You get constantly shouted down I remember we were calling people 5-6 times a day at the end of our credit card campaigns.

yeah im pretty nice to telemarketers. I was one for about a month back in 03 and people were rude as hell. I just started figuring, these people, just like me, don't WANT to do this...they just need some money. So i usually just say im not the man of the house and say no one else is home and say bye then hang up
