Where do you have LeBron ranked among players today?
I have him behind Kobe, tied with D.Wade. So basically top 3 where ranking him 1, 2 or 3 doesnt imply much because the gap between those 3 isnt significant. Well not to me.
Thats why i dont get in too deep with arguing Lebron vs Kobe, Lebron vs Wade, Lebron is the best player. If someone feels Bron is the best? So be it. The difference isnt similar to someone saying Vince Carter is better than Kobe. Or even I go as far as to say Paul Pierce is better than Bron. To me there is a gap there wider than Bron/Kobe/Wade.
If this all makes sense. Given how many players are in the NBA. To be considered as the top 3 in the NBA is an incredible feat in itself. I'm not gonna get bent out of shape because someone has Bron at 1, Wade at 3.
That was one of his tendencies last year too though: he takes jump shots in bunches. On the whole it seems like he's taking them at about the same rate as last year but I could be wrong.
I think on the whole he's taking more jumpshots, but I could also be wrong. What I know for sure is he's making them at a higher percentage.
And 0-2 against playoff teams. Their wins have come against the Knicks, Bobcats, Timberwolves, and Wizards.

It'll change in the up and comming weeks. It's nothing more than a 2 game seperation.
Perhaps it will, perhaps it will not. They have started with a soft schedule, playing only one team with a winning record last year yet are a mere 4-3...

Apparently not, because he is the only superstar not to have a true second option beside him, so he hasn't forced management to do anything.
He has two 18 ppg scorers from last season on his team, including a top 3 center. Shaq in particular was an excellent #1/#2 (#1 when Amare was injured) option last season, leading the league in FG %. Yet in the Cleveland one man offense he is nearly irrelevant.

You are the worst poster in the NBA Forum.
And LeBron was voted in the All NBA Defensive Team last year.
Reported.
For questioning "King" James' divinity?
Quote:
He had absolutely nobody else on the team who was decent, and besides that, 06-07 was Lebron's worst year by FAR
Yeah, they made it to the finals and had the 4th rated defense all because of "King" James. This is how Lebron, while a great player, manages to actually be overrated.
They have started with a soft schedule, playing only one team with a winning record last year yet are a mere 4-3...
New offense ...
The Nuggets, Lakers, Celtics and Magic basically have the same team as last year. Of course they're playing great basketball. Give the Cavs some time ...
2010 4-3 (on pace for 47 wins)
2009 66-16 ECF
2008 45-37 ECSF
2007 50-32 NBA finals
2006 50-32 ECSF
Which is the real Cavs? The 66 win team from last season or the 45 win team from the previous season? Even the 07' finals team would be not be contenders to win the East given the strength of the current Celtics and Magic. I can see the Cavs winning 60 games this year and going to the NBA finals; I also can see them winning 50 games and losing in the ECSF.
Lebeon is somewhat like Dr.J in the ABA. Dr.J is not as good as MJ but he dominated the ABA. Lebron right now is already on that level that in the league
he is simply the best player.
Hes great, but hes not as good as most make him out to be. He usually makes bad decision in the clutch, and still lacks alot of the skill that most greats have. This will likely change whithin a couple years, but right now I'd take Wade over him. Still, second best in the league is nothing to laugh at.
People still posting nonsense. lebron has been the clutchest player in the league in the past 2-3 season across all categories Check his clutch numbers in the reg season and playoffs
2007-2008 season

4th quarter or overtime, less than 5 minutes left, neither team ahead by more than 5 points
The first thing to note is that these types of shots are very difficult on a league wide basis: a .298 Field Goal percentage doesn't exactly inspire confidence!
Part of this is that game winning chances may come with just a couple of seconds or less remaining in the game from the inbounds. So manufacturing any shot at all in some cases is to the player's credit. In some cases it can even be a half court heave!
LeBron James was just 4-19 in our previous look at game winning shots, so in the ensuing two and a half seasons, he has come up with a very respectable 13-31 (.419) record and just the other day had a pure game winner at the buzzer to top the Warriors. In addition he has six assists and a healthy number of free throws earned.
Vince Carter doesn't get a lot of love from fans for the most part but is actually #2 in the standings for most game winners over this period.
Ray Allen is in third overall but also leads in most 3's made under our game winning defined situation specifics, with eight three pointers. Long live the NBA's arguably best pure shooter (Ray also currently leads the NBA in Midrange 2pt FG%).
...and then we get to Kobe Bryant. Kobe fans don't like to hear it, but while their man is #4 in the league in total game winners hit, he holds the top spot in a less glamorous category: most game winning opportunity missed shots!
42 - Kobe
35 - Vince Carter
33 - Joe Johnson, LeBron
32 - Crawford
31 - Billups
Now we're not Kobe haters by any means and I will readily give him his due as one of the best NBA players (note however, I didn't say the best) but he certainly has an overblown reputation when it comes to the clutch shot: people remember the ones he hits, but not the ones he misses, and heck you think a 56 FGA to 1 assist ratio might be part of the problem? He does have a better record in the playoffs though, which we'll get to down below.
Carmelo Anthony has slipped from the former top spot, but still a worthy challenger with the best fg% of any player with at least 10 makes.
Beyond that, you see a lot of familiar names, most with low success rates, and a lot of players with very low assists.
Paul Pierce is an exception as he stands at the head of the class for 'game winning assists' with nine, ahead of Nash, Kidd, Billups, and the rest.
