No public option, which sucks. The Senate is, in all likelihood, going to push a more conservative bill than the one that was just passed, and if it passes in the Senate, then the two bills will be merged.

Helloooo? This bill does have a public option.

I partially don't blame the level of basic debate going on here, because the damn media does such a horrible job of digging into the facts and actually detailing what's in the bill and what it would do. The simply mouth the talking-points from both sides...

1. Of course it doessn't say "you can't have the current plan that about 80% of the country is happy with". The theory against it is for what it will do is:

- The forced plans or tax/fines on small businness will hit about 60% of small businessess. SB creates BY FAR most of the jobs in the country.

- Many employeers, who now have the option to stop supplying health care because there's a public option, will pay a small fine; thus forcing more of us to the public government run option

- With the gov you have an endless money pool. They can opperate in ways that would run most companies out of business, and the theory is as that since they CAN'T compete that many eventually WONT.

- Many of you young guys will be forced to to pay 2-4k+ in insurance, whether you like it or not. Fined or even jailed? My guess is, when tax time comes around and millions of people realize they're being hit for 10% of their income...

BTW - for those thinking the government is some sort of saviour, they reject claims (through medicare) at a much higher rate than any insurance plan. And just think, someday that might be the only option (ever argued with the DMV - did it get anywhere?)

Someday we'll start looking at facts instead of Republican or Democratic bs, and decide based on what's good for us and the country.

Take a good look at the nonsensical arguement of Sergio. Talking points "all rich racists" bs, little facts and those he had are pointless or wrong. It's good to see many on the board actually asking questions and trying to make up their own mind.

Actually, Harry Reid is trying to pass a public option with a "trigger" that would let states opt out of the public option if they choose to do so. If they can pass that, then that's as good as a win for Obama and the Dems.
