My tryouts ended Monday and i didn't make the team. Since we got letters i didn't get to talk to the coach about it so the next morning i went into his office and asked him what i needed to do to make the team next year. He told me that he sometimes noticed that i disappeared from our scrimmages. He said that I have some good skills but i just lack the confidence and aggressiveness to use the skills i have. He told me that i should play some rec (im currently trying to get on a team) and just play. The main things he told me to work on were my ball handling (dribbling by people and driving) and my post moves (back to the basket kind of thing). Also something he didn't tell me but i noticed it during the tryouts is that i am tiny (wieght wise not height) so i am going to lift tons of weights and try to add 15 to 20 lbs of muscle before next season.

Oh and by the way, i hung the letter that i got saying i didnt make the team above my door so that every single day i have to look at it and hopefully it will motivate me to work harder and harder so that next year i wont get the same letter.

Great idea IMO - keep it up, lift, train like a *****.

we had our second game today.. it was the first round game of our home tournament. we put 106 pts on this team. We hit 13-15 three's.

****. I'm frustrated. Today was our third game in our league. We lost to a team that 1) (not too sound cocky or anything) I know we were better than & 2) Had a 50-point loss to another team just barely an hour before. We had the lead for pretty much the whole game. Today was screwed. I hate that some of my teammates just suddenly played sloppy, including a potential game-tying fastbreak lay-up that should've been a pass by our cap. I'm losing motivation. I know I want to play and play hard and win as a team, but I don't know why, I just seem to be losing motivation with every practice.

It's because you feel you ar enot being rewarded for your hard work..

Yeah, I think it's just that. In practice, a lot of people are just so... laid back. I try my best to do everything game speed/100%. ****, though, man. I really had a good feeling we were going to leave with a W, not that I was saying "Ah, we're gon' win tom. Book it.". For me, it's having desire to win, not really knowing that you'll win. In my opinion, if you feel the second way, you'll tend to underachieve.
