Good suggestion by Step Back. Still, I can't really name someone at the moment, but that is sort of why I talked about it being a surprise. I know it sounds crazy but maybe someone like Rip will "shock everybody" on a cheap buyout to come to the Bulls.
My main thought is just that with the Bulls being so good there is a chance that the team may get lucky in a really big way.
Re: Bulls will have to spend some money this offseason on a SG.
If Rip buys out now, he wont be able to play in this year's playoffs. I doubt anyone will want him after the display that he has put on in Detroit this season. He's going to hug that contract until it's over with next season.

I didn't know that Daequan Cook was restricted. He's young, has a decent shot from the perimeter, and the Thunder already have their swing positions covered with Durant, Sefolosha, and Harden.
He's the kind of young, inexpensive SG I can see the Bulls looking at.

We can rank them collectively now in the order of who we'd like the Bulls to pursue top to bottom.....
Please Add more if i left any out.
How about Arron Afflalo, Jason Kapono, Shannon Brown(player option).
A lot of these guys are terrific shooters but I see Thibs using SGs who can really defend at the same time knock down open jumpers. Afflalo would probably have a high price tag...
Also, why just limit yourself to just freeagents? You can also talk to teams that have the pieces you want and they might like to get your picks(even future 1st and 2nd rounders.

I hate the uncertainty plus 4 yrs from now, Boozer's and Deng's skills would be really declining. This is the time to capitalize on the peak playing form of the main guys.
