Default Why are we starting Diop?

Watching his pathetic fat ass try and move up and down the court would be comical if it weren't so depressing. Silas says he needs a big bulky center to counter some of our opposing lineups but if he's completely ineffective what difference does it make?

I say play Mullens and Biyombo and get them as much experience as possible. It might not help us win games but Diop isn't doing anything toward that goal either.

This makes zero sense.

When Silas says things like "I'm looking for minutes for BJ Mullens", while Diop is out there starting and playing 20 minutes a night. I don't believe what I've heard. Someone needs to tell that man that I've found the minutes he was looking for.

Diop is 30 years old, a ten year veteran, not even in shape and he has career numbers of 2ppg 4rpg. He should not be taking away any player's floor time on a losing team.

Just think.. After the end of next season the contracts of Diop, Maggette, and Carroll will be completely off of the books. Unless Jordan chooses to amnesty one of them, which I dont foresee him doing that will be a great day for this franchise. After that the only ridiculous contract we will have on the roster will be Tyrus Thomas, and that contract may actually turn out to be a bargain if he would ever live up to his ridiculous athleticism, but Im afraid he wont.

Not to mention we are getting rid of Diaw, and Najeras contract after this season. We are slowly, but surely getting rid of players who absolutely do nothing for this team. I cant think of a single team in the NBA that has so many players who contribute so little.

For the record Diaw does contribute, but hes so inconsistent Ive basically come to the point of hating him.

So nobody thinks Diop will be amnestied before next season? If I was running the team I would have already got rid of him prior to this year.

I don't see it happening.

The only reason to amnesty Diop, is if the Bobcats need that money to get further under the salarycap. Do you really see Jordan spending so much in free agency that he needs that extra seven million of capspace?

And as long as that doesn't happen, Diop should be staying on the roster. Who knows, maybe you can use him to make salaries match in a trade or something.

Knowing the way our team is run you’re probably right, but I wish it wasn't the case. There's a huge difference in being $10-12 mil under the cap and having almost $20 mil in cap space.
