Record: 26-26
Games left: 14
Standings: 8th seed.
4.5 games behind Atlanta (.441 SOS,2nd easiest in the league)
3.5 games behind Boston (.556 SOS,toughest in the league)
2.5 games behind Philadelphia (.460 SOS,3rd easiest in the league)
1.5 games ahead of Milwaukee (.435 SOS,easiest in the league)
*SOS = strength of schedule, based on winning percentage of the opponents.
We have a tough schedule and everyone around us has one of the easiest in the league except Boston who is 3.5 games ahead of us.
I don't want to hear answers "Maybe,if Milwaukee starts to lose..." or something like that.
I just want to hear your honest opinion on whether the Knicks will make the playoffs or not ?
With 14 games remaining it's time to really wonder about that.
And in a couple days, someone will probably ask "Will the Knicks win the championship?". Why are knicks fans so fickle?
It's not just because we lost last night. I've been asking myself this question since long time ago.
We're only 1.5 games ahead of the Bucks. Bucks have the easiest schedule in the league while the Knicks have one of the toughest.
There's a realistic chance we'll miss it.
We play the Bucks one more time. Winner of that game could very well get the last playoff spot.

I'm not directing it at you and im not saying theyre guaranteed to make it. I'm just noticing how one day we will all be talking about how horrible the team is and then 2 wins later be talking about championships. Not a good look
and it doesn't just go for the team either, its the players as well. you would think Shumpert was in the running for ROY or something the way some of us talk about him. Hes a nice player that i like and expect to improve but to blow him up and talk about him already being the best defender in the league and how he can avg 20ppg is premature, meanwhile we have guys like Klay Thompson, Isaiah Thomas, Kenneth Faried, Kawhi Leonard, Chandler Parsons, Jordan Crawford etc who might be playin better yet we barely know who they are. Had they been on the Knicks, we would probably be talking about them being future greats... s l o w d o w n
..but to get back to the the thread, seeds 4-8 are separated by only 3.5 games (2.5 until last night) and phillys fallin. I'd be very disappointed if the knicks didnt make the playoffs. Though if Lin were to be out for an extended period, and Baron continues to break down, they'd be in some serious sh*t

This is what I'm worried about:
Softest remaining strength of schedule (by Opp W-L):
1. Milwaukee .435
2. Atlanta .441
3. Philadelphia .460
So we're battling with 3 teams who have the easiest remaining schedule in the league.
Celtics have the toughest remaining schedule in the league but they are 3.5 games ahead of us and I simply don't see them falling out of the playoffs.
Big time. He was solid tonight in a win against Cleveland but he has to be amazing if we want to beat Chicago,Miami and other tough teams we're playing until the end of the season.
We also need Milwaukee to lose some games.
We're playing against them in about 10 games and winner of that game will gain a big advantage, maybe that game will decide which team will earn the last playoff spot.
