Actually, they allowed 102.8 a game in 1987, that's damn good in fast paced league. That's actually better than A LOT of teams in today's league. They held teams to 45.1%FG, in a league that took VERY FEW 3-pointers. The eFG% of the opposing team would be very close to that. Last year's 2nd ranked defense (Chicago Bulls) held opponent's to 43%FG, which if you adjust for eFG%, would probably be WORSE than the 1987 Hawks.
