Its amazing how no one outside LA land overrates Kobe.

The strength, length, quickness of Willis + Wilkins + Rivers + Rollins is well known. This is yesteryears version of OKL thunders. They played athletic D. something Kobe always struggles against.

No they didn't, they scored 110 points per game, they allowed 102, and even that was due to their pace(97.4 possessions per 48 minutes), which was very slow for the time(only Philadelphia and Chicago played at a slower pace), but very fast by today's standards.

Actually, they allowed 102.8 a game in 1987, that's damn good in fast paced league. That's actually better than A LOT of teams in today's league. They held teams to 45.1%FG, in a league that took VERY FEW 3-pointers. The eFG% of the opposing team would be very close to that. Last year's 2nd ranked defense (Chicago Bulls) held opponent's to 43%FG, which if you adjust for eFG%, would probably be WORSE than the 1987 Hawks.

Once again, you're ill-informed.

What makes MJ so unique is that he's arguably the best slashing SG ever. He's also arguably the best postup SG ever. And's he arguably has the best midrange game ever at SG. And he's the most freakish athlete ever to play SG. I mean u had a guy like Gervin who had all of that going for him before Jordan other than the freakish athlete stuff. And Kobe is most definitely the closest to MJ. But MJ totally took shit to another level. Plus he's arguably the greatest defender ever at SG. And arguably the greatest rebounder and passer ever at SG. No athlete has dominated his position, sports, and pop culture like MJ. He was frankly the perfect athlete!
