I dont know what need he would fill but the guy should definatly get to try to start the season out with bulls. He is grabbing rebounds and stuffing it quite often in Summer league.
Malcom Thomas on the bulls summer league team has been playing great. He is also very athletic and it looks like he can play both the 3 and 4 position. He has a post presence at the 4 and also the quickness to play the 3. Would be nice to have on the team if Deng ever gets hurt or is traded. He would also come at the veterans minimum, a real bargain.
If the bulls FO lets him get away they should all be fired.
I like him. He is worth getting signed, and being sent to Iowa if need be, but retained for development and filling in for injury.
I feel the same way about Sims. 2 guys on the SL roster that would make for excellent low-risk insurance.
Completely agree.
Having Thomas as our 3rd PF and Sims as our 3rd C would be some nice young depth. Sign them both. Have them both play in the D-League and call them up as needed.
My hopes are high for us to get this guy he could definatly be the type of person to use durring oponent runs put him on the 3 with taj 4 and joakim 5 and you got some serious post presence
I'm getting conflicting reports on any other player.
E'Twane Moore is getting a tryout with the coaches this week. This is much like Luther Head getting a try out last year before the camp started. They were high on Head and almost signed him. But that fell through. IDK, we'll see if Moore is any different, or if the team expands it's options to developing players.
The Bulls let Sims walk, shake hands, ect ect. AFAICT nobody else is getting any real attention, just names being thrown out.
Read a rumor that Malcolm Thomas may be getting offered more money than the Bulls are looking to offer by other teams with the Bobcats being one of them.
Bulls are looking at Dominic McGuire if they can't bring in Malcolm Thomas.
