I don't know about this, he's gonna stay for Eurocup games only? I'd leave if I were him.
He probably does not want to play for Giannakis in Limoges, since playing time is based on defensive effort with him.
He probably does not want to play with PAO, because the last time he was there he hardly played..........
Panionios is probably his best bet, but maybe he wants to play in the Spanish League because then he could get scouted by other Spanish teams and get a contract more easily.
Or maybe he would just rather play in Bilbao so he would only have to play once a week, instead of twice a week in Panionios.
Anyway, Verginis is an underrated player to me. He has potential, being a really big and strong point guard that can create his own shot. He just needs a team to give him a chance. His problem is he just lacks game time, because he has hardly played for so many years.
Report now in Greece is that Bilbao asked Verginis to stay for Eurocup games, but he got a good offer and a big role from Aris so he decided to take it.
He's 2nd in points per game to Gagaloudis (one of the best Greek guards for years) and he's first in ranking.
And he's not doing it on a small, bad club. Panionios is a very deep team and is loaded with very good players throughout the roster. Putting those kinds of numbers on a team with so many good players is just unbelievable.
If you watch the games, he is getting a lot of dunks. He's also running the offense well and pretty much setting the tempo and dictating the pace of the game.
They switched him to PG from SG, where he has been playing the last few years, and it seems like his game just exploded when they did that.

I'm sure he's playing great, just saying it's only been a few games.
The great Panionios loaded with great players just got their asses kicked by a middling Belgian team. Matt Lojeski and Wes Wilkinson tore them up together with 41 points and 14 rebounds.
