Kevin Love's hand is broken again
An MRI taken Saturday revealed that Timberwolves forward Kevin Love re-fractured the third metacarpal on his right hand Thursday night, the same injury that cost him most of the first month of the season. He will go to New York this week to visit with a hand specialist, after which the team will look to establish a timeline. Love was initially diagnosed with a sprained finger, and X-rays came back negative, so this news comes as something of a surprise. Derrick Williams will likely see an increased role in Love's absence.
Analysis: This latest injury was not expected to be a serious one, but now it looks like he will have to miss significant time yet again. When he first suffered the injury, he was given a 4-6 week timetable for recovery, but he was able to return earlier than expected. We will obviously monitor this situation with Love moving forward, however do not be surprised if he is forced to miss at least a few weeks of playing time. Love is obviously worth stashing in all formats, but Fantasy owners will need to find a replacement for him, yet again.
