Default Re: Chip Kelly to the Eagles?

ESPN just ran an article listing 10 possible QB's for the Eagles under Kelly.

It's insider so I'll just post the list and the categories ESPN has them in

Bigger Names:

Michael Vick
Alex Smith

Don't Dismiss It:

Nick Foles

Trade Targets:

Joe Webb
Terrelle Pryor
Matt Flynn
Dennis Dixon

Worth A Draft Pick:

Nick Florence (Baylor)
Tyler Wilson (Arkansas)
EJ Manuel (Florida State)

Report now that Eagles have until March 11, not Feb 6, to make a decision on Vick. This shit will be dragged out. And LOL at Joe Webb being a trade possibility.

Foles will be the QB unless they can bring in somebody like Alex Smith. ESPN is idiotic, feeding every knee-jerk reaction in the sports world.

They will not run the offensive system Kelly ran at Oregon. The offense they'll try to put together will look more like New England's than anything else. Periodic, situational use of the up tempo. Rotating RB who will handle the ball a lot. More emphasis on the TE position; either Harbour is going to have to step up or they'll find someone to pair with Celek.

Vick will be gone. No way he takes a pay cut and a situational position. No way the team looks to keep a guy who bashed them while they attempted to protect his health. Just don't see it.

I am very interested in seeing what Kelly can bring to the NFL. I think it'll take a few years to institute but I'm curious to see what his offensive philosophy does in the big leagues.

Contract details were released today

Chip Kelly's contract with the Eagles is a 5 yr/32.5 million dollar deal. Making him one of the highest paid coaches in the NFL.

Potential targets include players like Joe Webb, Pryor, Dennis Dixon but no one is entertaining the idea of Tebow in Kelly's system?

I know people don't like Tebow but Webb, Pryor and Dixon rated ahead of him? really?

I want to see Tebow get a chance with Kelly and see how he does compared to the other read/spread/pistol QB's. It will be interesting if Tebow puts up the same numbers as other guys in this system lol.

The talk was he needed the personnel to run his offense successfully. Replace speedsters Vick/Maclin with Foles/Cooper and no problems. Even getting 50 yard running games, with DESIGNED runs, from a QB that ran a 5.2 40.

He had bumps early with time management and knowing the NFL rule book. Maybe cost us the Chargers game. But I think he's turned into the right hire.

Chip get all da hoes

Longest tenured Eagles fan on ISH and I hope you're right and I was wrong.

But... wins over Wash (x2), TB, NYG, OAK, GB with a 3rd string QB.

4 of the remaining 5 are against teams with winning records. I want to see how that goes.

Also, as referenced by someone else, you have to be able to run some 4th quarter clock in the NFL. He couldn't do it at Oregon and so far hasn't fared well. Tough to base everything on GO GO GO, only to suddenly say SLOW SLOW SLOW.

The team lacks talent in the secondary, receivers, and LB's as far as fitting a 3-4 scheme. It's a 2-3 year project after inheriting someone else's used parts. Beating teams you should beat is a good start for now.
