And, it would be understandable if the hyperbole hadn't been so completely over-the-top for any rational basketball enthusiast.
You are focusing on the comments regarding Jrue and, rightfully so, because Jrue has always been the better prospect and that was obvious to anyone remotely unbiased. However, he wasn't the only one in this thread laughably dismissed by the Linsane hive.
There was actually a point in this thread where a Knicks fan (PatrickChewing) laughed at the idea of Kyrie Irving being the better player/prospect. Another chimed in, "there is nothing Kyrie does better than Lin."
There was also a diagram posted by Bladers which allegedly proved Lin is a better shooter than Kyrie.
It is also important to note this was one of hundreds of threads about Lin being the best PG in the game... and posters chastising those who disagreed.
It already feels like 1,000 years ago and it is already hard to imagine what was going through these people's minds. Imagine what this will look like in another 3-4 years when both Kyrie and Jrue will be right at the top of the point guard list.
This thread needs to be entered into the ISH time capsule to show exactly what overreaction looks like, in motion.
Totally agree. Either this thread or another I remember defending Kyrie Irving vs the Lin fanatics. You are right there have been many others in this thread alone that I could also point out. I specifically want to poke at SourGrapes who randomly chimes in trying to 1 up me in threads. Not sure why but it was just funny to see him call me an idiot, racist and other labels because I said Holiday > Lin. Does Bladers even post here anymore? He tried hard to toy with stats to argue how Lin was a better shooter than Kyrie.

Sorry Rose fans.
He doesn't , you've been just told, wasn't that hard.
Re: Tell me Lin doesn't have more potential than any pg in the NBA
Jrue Holiday, All Star PG avg 19ppg 9apg 4rpg 1.4spg shooting 46% Fg 36% 3pt
Jeremy Lin, more potential than any PG avg 12ppg 6apg 4rpg 2spg shooting 42% FG 29% 3pt
Sidenote: Kyrie Irving is avg 24ppg shooting efficiently across the board (getting to FT line at a good rate) while showing he is clutch as any player in the NBA. Lin has more potential than Irving however.
Re: Tell me Lin doesn't have more potential than any pg in the NBA
Lin's problem is that he doesn't complement a ball-dominant star well. Harden is better than him so the ball stays in Harden's hands. Lin has to develop his off-ball game in the offseason. He can be a good player. Sac just went overboard and is an idiot (as usual).

LMAO reading through this thread and some people look real stupid right about now. I knew Lin would just be a lower-tier starting PG and never more than that. It's just so hard for asians to understand that he is only an average player and would be a disgrace to the ASG if he ever played in it. They say you're racist if you say he sucks, but they only like him because of his race and anyone can plainly see that. Who's the racist in that situation?
I judge players based on the quality and production of their play and Lin simply is nowhere near as good as some people in this thread were saying he is. Many of them are known to be asian though so it doesn't surprise me. I wonder if they ever stop and think, "why do only us asians think jeremy lin is a star?"
Lin really did earn some respect from me by becoming a somewhat consistent average PG early in the year, but he really showed his true colors in the end. Bytched out of the playoffs with a weak injury once again and then showed why Patrick Beverley should be starting over him He really might lose that starting spot, Beverley really showed some potential and was putting up better numbers than Lin was when given a chance. If Lin gets benched he'll be a certified scrub no doubt about.
Only SacJBshady thinks Lin has star potential and he has a room full of Lin fatheads with a king size mattress and has hot orgys with his gay friends while all the Lin's watch

Well the Lin fans will never die (me incl) ...You just know, that threads are gonna startup and explode, when he has another linsanity type games(s) next season...I'll be there with pompoms at the ready.
Yeah beverely is very good at giving Harden the ball and getting out of his way.-He can create havoc on the defensive end, I'll give beverlly that much. Lin has the superior court vision.

For Morey's sake, I hope the team can make back the $25 million somehow.
They did. I never liked the signing, but Lin is clearly a cash cow for our owner. It sucks but I guess we will have to deal with him for a couple more years.
