Talking How many Knicks does it take to change a light bulb?

Paraphrasing the old joke in the case of the Knick's, it seems to be 17!

The way they have been working together, it would take one Knick to climb the ladder and hold the bulb while the other 16 turn the ladder around and around until the bulb is unscrewed.

However, based on last years 23 wins and screwed-up season -- the Knicks have yet to prove that they can unscrew anything. However, I am hoping for a much better season this year.

None-the-less, as of today according to the Knicks website, here is the Knicks 17-member team for 2006-07:

Knicks 2006-07 Roster

Name Pos Ht Wt DOB School Years in NBA

Renaldo Balkman F 6-8 208 07/14/1984 South Carolina R
Mardy Collins G 6-6 220 08/04/1984 Temple R
Jamal Crawford G 6-5 190 03/20/1980 Michigan 6
Eddy Curry C-F 6-11 285 12/05/1982 Thornwood HS (IL) 5
Steve Francis G 6-3 200 02/21/1977 Maryland 7
Channing Frye C 6-11 248 05/17/1983 Arizona 1
Jerome James C 7-1 280 11/17/1975 Florida A&M 6
Jared Jeffries F 6-11 240 11/25/1981 Indiana 4
David Lee F 6-9 249 04/29/1983 Florida 1
Stephon Marbury G 6-2 205 02/20/1977 Georgia Tech 10
Quentin Richardson F-G 6-6 230 04/13/1980 DePaul 6
Nate Robinson G 5-9 180 05/31/1984 Washington 1
Jalen Rose G-F 6-8 215 01/30/1973 Michigan 12
Malik Rose F 6-7 255 11/23/1974 Drexel 10
Maurice Taylor F 6-9 265 10/30/1976 Michigan 8
Ime Udoka G-F 6-5 220 08/09/1977 Portland State 2
Qyntel Woods (FA) F 6-8 220 02/16/1981 Northeast Mississippi CC 4

With 17 on the roster now, how many players are the Knicks allowed to keep? Who do you think will be will be cut?

Sorry for the formatting; but I spent 15 minutes trying without success

Qyntel Woods is a free agent. He isn't on the roster so it makes 16 but the gotta cut one anyway. 12 active, 3 on dl. Let's Cut JJ even though we gotta pay him.

By JJ I guess you mean Jerome James and not Jared Jefries. The knicks would have to be crazy to wave James and throw away $30 Million after one bad season. And we Know that is possible. However, James may come into camp and play much better this year now that Larry Brown is gone. If he does, he would be useful as the back up center or as trade bait.

I believe that Ime Udoka does not have a guaranteed contact, so he would cost the Knicks nothing to wave.

Any other opinions about who will be cut?

Quentel is a free agent. If he gets another offer, I don't expect the Knicks to match it.

That made me laugh so bad.

Udoka will probably get cut.
