Dunleavy is not playing the game and missing all the shots. I do question his rotation. I think we need to allow Taylor be the second option pg. Gordon should have played more, especially when we were missing all our shots. Does anybody else notice our lead decreases, our intensity decreases and if we have a deficit it increases when Hart comes in?

I would venture a guess that Baron will probably be out at least a week if not more. It's all but impossible to run with a deep bruise on your hip, and Baron hit the floor HARD.

As far as the team and last nights game:

Denver got a lot of easy points in the paint. Kaman had some nice blocks but there were times when guys got by him and he wouldnt be able to challenge them at the basket because he had a bad angle and didnt want to get in foul trouble. That's where we need Camby's helpside defense because we were SORELY lacking it last night. Paul Davis did have a couple nice blocks but with Camby in there it should seriously stabilize our interior defense.

I really think its the lack of an organized rotation that is killing us at this point. At least the fact that we were beating the Lakers in the first half and blowing out the Nuggets indicates that our starting lineup can compete. Dunleavy is just still struggling to figure out who fits in where, and I dont think that you really can blame him for that. There's like 9 guys out there he's never coached before and we've only played 2 games.

I was disappointed Brian Skinner didnt play more last night. He only logged 4 minutes. I know Paul Davis was having a nice game but I think we could have used Skinner's body in the paint. He also knocked down a ncie jumper. He's one of those guys who you just feel comfortable having in the game, even if he's not big in the stat column. So far I think Skinner and Novak are two guys who have to be in the rotation. Skinner's intangibles and Novak's three point shooting are the kind of things championship teams get from their benches.

I wish there was a way we could start Kaman, Skinner (till Camby's back), Thomas, AND Thornton. The current lineup is gonna miss Thomas' hot hand when Camby gets back and offensively production will drop. Is it terribly unrealistic to play Thornton at the 2 and Thomas the 3? Maybe. I just wish there was a way to have Camby's defense and Tim and Al's offense on the court all at the same time.

Clippers lead 17-15 with 5:16 left on the first, time-out on the floor.

So far, the offensive side is going well, but the Jazz are getting lay-ups pretty damn easily. Mobley is doing a good job of getting lay-ins himself as he has 8 early points, I believe and Kaman needs to start making shots, besides that, he's doing well. We've lost 32 of our last 33 games in Utah, no Baron makes it tougher, but hey, stranger things have happened.

After the second media time-out, the Clippers extend the lead to 25-21 with 2:14 left. I'm liking the fact that we are attacking the rim, mainly Cat and T2 and Mike Taylor is such a change of pace from Jason Hart, as he is speedy quick and just went coast to coast for an easy lay-up, then got up and started playing full-court D. I can not wait until we get fully healthy and clicking, hopefully Thomas and Mobley keep it going when that happens.

Jazz cut the deficit to 1 at the end of the first as it is 25-24 Clippers. Mobley and Thomas have started out well, combining for 21 points, 8-11 shooting and 5-5 from the strike. Outrebounding 12-5 is also a good sign along with shooting over 40% at 58%, but the Clippers also started out well against the Lakers and the Nuggets. This team needs to learn to play for 48 minutes, not 18 like they did against the Lakers or 33 against the Nuggets.

Clippers up 34-30 with 8:18 left in the first half. Kaman is starting to finally make some jumpers in the post, and Mike T is doing a damn good job, better then Hart, especially in the open court he is going to get his lay-up to go in. Let's try to take this one and hope we can come back and win Monday night as well.

Jazz tie it up at 34 with 5:55 left in the half. Kaman goes back to missing every shot he takes but Brian Skinner making back to back blocks and yet another one right after shows he belongs ahead of Davis on the rotation chart. Ricky, being the ballhog he has been labeled, is being too passive and Mike Taylors energy is just...great.

Jazz take the lead 44-41 with 2:29 left in the first half. Kyle Korver knocks down back to back baskets to help the Jazz take a lead. Mike Taylor hits a trey of his own, and is playing nothing like a late 2nd round selection, hopefully Hart remains on the bench so Mike can keep playing.

Score is tied at 48 at the half, ending it horribly giving the Jazz all the momentum going into the half. A lazy pass by Tim Thomas, miscommunication by Mobley and Mike T. led to a turnover, not grabbing the rebound after a missed free throw and Juice not trying to get a shot off before the half. Besides that, it has been a solid first half considering we have lost 32 of 33 at Utah and we are missing Davis/Camby and they are without D-Will.

Box Score Breakdown:
  • Mobley is on fire as he has 17 points on 8-10 shooting, combine that with Thomas' 10 points on 3-4 shooting and it shows why the Clippers are doing well.
  • Clippers are +6 on rebounds, but have allowed 4 more offensive boards for the Jazz, that needs to be fixed.
  • Jazz have only 1 turnover with 13 dimes to boot, while the Clippers have 6 dimes and 10 turnovers.
  • Clippers are shooting 57.6% from the field, thanks to big part of Cat and T2's early performance, and the Jazz are shooting a solid 45.7% themselves.

Keys To Victory in Half Number 2:
  • Take care of the ball. As previously noted, the Clippers have 10 first half turnovers with only 6 assists. Also, force turnovers.
  • Keep attacking the rim. We need to get rebounds and keep the Jazz from getting second and third possessions
  • Who is going to close? Last night, versus the Nuggets, we had no one to end the game with Baron going down. Who will take the spot and try to close out the game?

Let's Go Clippers!

Jazz up 58-54 with 6:37 remaining in the third quarter. Clippers started out flat, but since then, have started playing well, just need to keep Boozer off the boards as he has 4 2nd chance points in this half so far. Mike Taylor has just moved himself up ahead of Jason Hart in the depth chart with his defense, change of pace and the 11 points he has thus far. What a steal at number 55, if he keeps this up, then wow. Kaman also had a nice jam, let's get our first W of the season guys!

Jazz up 65-60 with 2:45 remaining in the third quarter. Jazz are just being more physical at the moment and getting to the line. They are getting offensive rebounds way too easily, Clippers need to get that down along with getting some shots to fall.

Jazz end the quarter on a 15-0 run to take a 75-60 cushion into the fourth and final period of the game. No ball movement, no good shots, no rebounding. Clippers just keep shooting themselves into the foot, and go another game where they don't play for 48 minutes and probably start out 0-3. Marcus, get healthy already, we need you on the boards.
