Both our PGs can't shoot. I hope Triano bans them from shooting the ball. Who do you think should be playing more minutes? I like Rokos height and length. I find he is kind of underrated on defense, better than Calderon and Solomon but still not that great. I don't really like anything about Solomon. He just chirps the refs constantly about all the mistakes that are entirely his own fault. He takes bad shots, and 3s like TJ used to do . I guess sometimes he can find the open man and has nice assist games but that's about all I can see. What are your thoughts raptor nation?
Soloman's an alright shooter, but overall I'd rather Ukic on the court. More creativity, less of an ego, plus it's better to let him get the experiance.
- Both can't shoot but Ukic might have the worst jump shot in the entire NBA.
- I've seen some decent playmaking from both but also many stupid mistakes.
- Ukic is probably a bit of a better defensive player.
But again, it's only BACKUP PG. There are far more pressing needs on this team than the quality of play of 12 minutes per game at that spot. Just make sure that anytime one of these two is in, Bosh is in there as well. If that happens then I won't concern myself with these two.

agree! but if we make a trade to address SF/SG issue, might a well pick up a PG or combo guard
Both don't really even seem to have a TON of potential, we should of drafted a young American guard from one of the college with that pick we got in the Indiana deal, Rokic looks alright sometimes though ...... we should grab a Vet or something for cheap

What American pointguards were available at pick 41?

yeah.. young american guard.. we tested a few in the past and they worked out alright (eg. alston, roger mason, arroyo, etc)
Roko Ukic is going to be very a good player. Even with guys playing off of him, he is still getting by guys and putting up quality shots, he's just not making 'em (I think this stems from lack of strength). He'll improve as he grows older, compare him to a young TP, needs time adjusting but will improve with time...
I think the comparison to Tony Parker is a bit unwarranted, but I do beleive he'll become a quality backup in the league.
Not saying that he is going to become the TP of today, but decently close to it? I believe so. I see a lot of potential in him and have been a fan since the day we drafted him, so I guess I am a little biased. I actually believe he'll be a starting PG in 2-3 years for the Raptors as long as we keep him and it wouldn't surprise me one bit. He is fantastic at penetrating and tries hard to create, and right now it's resulting in a lot of turnovers. But I have faith that he'll learn the game and also guys will start to learn how to play off him. Not only that, what I have noticed from watching him is that he usually takes good shots, he just isn't strong enough to finish - that'll also improve over time.
Yea, I might be coming off as a Blazer lunatic type homer, but I've had faith in Ukic since he was drafted and was shocked that we got him at 40 something. He'll show his worth...
I like Ukic alot too. Don't know about him being a starter in the league, but definately a legitamate back up. I hate Solomon, almost as much as I hate Vince Carter. lol
