Wizards trade Antonio Daniels to Hornets in 3-team trade. Mike James, JavarisC to Wiz
The Wizards are reportedly close to a deal that would send Antonio Daniels to the Hornets in exchange for veteran point guard Mike James. The Grizzlies could also be involved, possibly including Javaris Crittenton for a conditional draft pick.
The contracts don't match (James makes $5.6 million this season and Daniels $6.2 million) so other players would have to be involved. New Orleans forward Melvin Ely is a possibility. A deal is expected to be announced in the next few hours, so stay tuned.

Washington is going to be gunning all the way into the lottery.
Wow. Thats great for the Hornets. Were still weak after West and Chandler on the bench. But James was awful this season. We got tricked into taking him in the Bonzi trade and have been paying for it ever since.
The Washington Wizards, Memphis Grizzlies and New Orleans Hornets have agreed to a three-team trade that will bring two new guards to the Gilbert Arenas-less Wizards, according to NBA front-office sources.
The Wizards will receive New Orleans' Mike James and Memphis' Javaris Crittenton in the exchange, with the Hornets acquiring Washington's Antonio Daniels and the Grizzlies coming away with a future first-round pick.
Arenas has yet to play for the Wizards since signing a new $111 million contract in the offseason after undergoing surgery on his left knee. A firm timetable for Arenas' comeback has not been established, but he has yet to be cleared to participate in contact drills, making a return by Jan. 1 -- as Arenas initially hoped -- seem unlikely.

This is an excellent deal for the Hornets. Daniels is a proven player, who has proven he can play well as a back up. He will provide more stability than Mike James could ever could as a backup to Paul. He plays smart, is steady, and doesnt make many mistakes. Very nice pick up
The Hornets get an actual steady backup point guard (when healthy), and the Wizards are a ****ty enough team for the Mike James of Toronto to try and make a return. He could conceivably be a relatively consistent 3rd scoring option in Washington if given the greenlight and help them maintain till Arenas returns. Or he could prove that his 20 ppg season was nothing more than a fluke on a ****ty team in a contract year.
I like the trade for the Hornets, and the Wizards have nothing to lose by trying the gamble. I won't even speak on the Grizzlies.
Good deal for the Hornets getting a backup PG as long as he's consistent. Washington get's two guards one's a scorer and one can be groomed for the future. Memphis gets a pick...i guess to help in the future. Doesn't do anything for them now.
daniels and james are both 33 year old point guards who aren't good anymore. (i watch the wizards a lot- daniels isn't good at all anymore). i actually like the move for the wizards cause jarvis has some potential and the wiz blow anyway. he can be a good combo guard in the future. otherwise this trade is kinda blah.
