Default Nets need a good SF to compete for a guarranteed playoff spot.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/feature...7~17&te=&cash=

How about this trade?

We get rid of Sean Williams who isn't for us.
Josh Boone because we have Brook Lopez and we don't need him.
Stro Swift same reason cause of Williams.
Hassell just a filler.

We get:
Hughes whose a good starter and we can move him to SF.
And Sefelosha whose a great player off the bench whom the Bulls dont even use.

Thats all our bigs.
We can trade one, maybe 2, but not 3.

I feel like a second-tier no-namer type like Maurice Evans, or even Marcus Williams from the Cardinals would appropriately for a chance to progress.

I'm still awaiting the development of Joshua Boone. He was no stiff in College, and I feel as lowly as the duet of Williams and Boone may seem now, the future is bright like the mind of a Mensa.

what evidence do you have that larry hughes would make a good three?

based on his skills i could see him as being the first guard alternate, taking a lot of minutes away from dooling, but no way do you pay a guy $12 million as a backup. not even ginobli makes that much.

We need a good PF more than we need a SF. I don't like this trade, because Hughes is a borderline scrub right now and Sefelosha isn't proven yet.

I want to keep Lopez, because he has potential to be very special. But I'm alright with trading the other bigs.

If Thorn can put off another big one for us and get us a decent PF without giving up Vince or Devin, that would make my day, or year for that matter.

Agreed. A decent PF like prime Kenyon Martin would guarantee the Nets a play-off ticket(Chris Bosh would be nice, but let's be realistic).

Martin has a huge contract, not sure if you would like to take that baggage, plus this guy has abandoned this team didn't He?
I like the Mo Evans idea.

I don't like Hughes because he is more natural playing in the backcourt PLUS he has a huge contract that will lessen their versatility for futue free agents, also he is injury prone.
Why not Andres Nocioni? This guy is tough, has a decent perimeter game, has a high salary tho.
Or they can also trade for a decent SG and more Carter to SF, Sefalosha is not a bad idea.

How about getting Shawn Marion from the Heat? He has a expiring contract and plus the Nets can probably trade Sean Williams and a couple of feelers to match their salaries.

marion needs a fastbreak / open court system to excel. plus his skills are on the decline, his contract is overpaid and he's a headcase who thinks he's a lot better of a player than he actually is.

no thanks- he's not what the nets need IMO.

Thats a good look, Nets should pursue Marion, he's a beast, Ill take em. Give him a real chance to shine in jersey. The Heat hasnt shown him justice as of yet.
