After eight seasons of Maloof watching and listening, of probing and pestering, this is the deal: Those Maloof-to-Las-Vegas rumors that have tormented Kings fans since the brothers landed at Sac International are nothing more than a reflection of the community's acute and chronic insecurity woes.
Local conspiracy theorists need to find another cause. It's really that simple. It should have been that simple all along. There is no devious plan to relocate.
There is no diabolical plot to trash Arco Arena.

Arco Arena has not been condemned. Even if Q & R passes, it could take 4 - 5 years to prepare the railyard and build the new arena. The chief complaint about Arco arena is that it is outdated. It could be used for several more years. It is only l8 years old--most large buildings can be engineered to last at least 50 years. (ARCO was built on the cheap--around $70 Mil)--so there may be justifiable reasons why it needs to be replaced sooner than one would expect.
Teams are very cautious about moving, especially when they're in a city like Sacramento where fan support has been excellent. There are about five cities experiencing financial problems at the present time, due to weak fan support and/or poor lease arrangements. So, when a team moves they cannot always be sure about the type of reception they will get.
great post buck, that's another point I wanted to make. I am thinking that if there is a far consideration of moving in the back of the Maloof's minds, they don't realize they porbably won't get the same fan support over a longer period of time. It might grab attendance at first, but there are no fans like Sac fans.

Kings' fans are passionate about the team and I think the majority of them appreciate what the Maloofs have done for the city. However, there is a substantial vocal group who don't trust Joe and Gavin--think they are greedy Las Vegas gamblers who are here to rip us off. This group of whiners and skeptics are determined to send Q & R down to defeat.
The casino is only one of the Maloofs' many business interests--other ventures include banking, hotels, food and beverage distribution and transportation. (Its too bad that so many are focused on the Las Vegas aspect of the family business.)
Joe and Gavin value the support they have in Sacramento and I think they will explore every avenue to get a new arena and to keep the Kings and Monarchs here.
i get so irritated when people hate the maloofs for being rich. wtf?! they actually studied in school and got good grades, went to college and earned it. those people should get off their asses and do something.
